Neil Murray
Partner neil@armstrongmurray.co.nzPhone : (09) 489-9102 Neil has had over 30 years legal experience he specialises in residential and commercial conveyancing, family trusts, wills and estates, cross leasing, building contracts and company administration. Neil has been a partner in Armstrong Murray since 1978. He is committed to service of the local community. Neil is a past president and active member of the Takapuna Rotary Club, a founding member of the Takapuna Citizens Advice Bureau, trustee of a number of charitable trusts including St Annes Trust for the Visually Impaired and the North Shore Housing Trust for the Disabled. He has served on the Rosmini College Board of Governors and the St Josephs School Board of Trustees. Neil is well known in the cricket community of North Harbour and Auckland. A qualified coach, Neil has coached in all secondary schools cricket and all grades of North Harbour cricket. He has also managed the Auckland Aces. Neil currently serves on the Judicial Committee of the Auckland Cricket Association. He acts for the Takapuna Cricket Club and holds service awards from Harbour Sport for services to both cricket and basketball. Neil is involved in all areas of general practice and now specialises in property and trusts. He is also on the Board of Directors of Clearlite a bathroomware company, based on the North Shore. |
Chris Davis
Partner chris@armstrongmurray.co.nzPhone : (09) 489-9102 Chris has more than 25 years experience in providing advice in the areas of commercial law, commercial and residential development, company law, company and business structures, commercial contracts, trusts, wills and estates and general practice.
Chris was appointed a Notary Public in 1998 and is available to provide notarial services as required.
Chris was a member of the Board of Trustees of Campbells Bay School for 10 years, and chairman of that Board for the last 2 of those years. He is Honorary Solicitor to Badminton North Harbour (and is the former Chairman of the Board and current Vice President of that organisation), North Harbour Table Tennis Association, the Glenfield and East Coast Bays Rugby Clubs, The Windsor Park Trust Board, the Torbay Historical Society and Torbay Community Association and several other sporting and community groups. |
John Armstrong
Partner john@armstrongmurray.co.nzPhone : (09) 489-9102 John has more than 20 years experience, primarily in the field of civil and commercial litigation. He spent his first six years practicing in London where he spent some years in the litigation department of one of Europe’s largest construction companies. Since returning to New Zealand in 1990, John has run the litigation department of Armstrong Murray, and is widely experienced in property matters. As a specialist litigator, he receives a number of referrals from other lawyers. He also has a well established employment law practice.
John is an Auckland District Law Society cost reviser and previously served on the Society’s public relations committee. He is a former trustee of the Ark trust (now disestablished), which identified and provided support to at risk youths. He is a founding trustee of the Jervois Road Trust, which commenced a joint community and Auckland City Council initiative to re-plant Jervois Road. He is Honorary Solicitor to a number of clubs.

Karen Stubbs LLB (Hons)
Associate
Karen graduated with an LLB (Hons) from Auckland University in 1987. She worked with small/medium sized firms in the City and on the Shore before joining Armstrong Murray in 1995. Karen is part of the general practice team, dealing mostly with conveyancing – both residential and small businesses and also with the formation and administration of family trusts. |
Jackie Cross Associate NZILE
Jackie began working with Armstrong Murray in 1991, qualifying as a Legal Executive in 1997. Jackie has experience in most areas of general practice but predominantly specialises in estate administration, wills and residential conveyancing. |
Kate Grimmer LLB
Kate graduated with her law degree from Canterbury University in 2006 and was admitted to the bar in 2007. Kate joined Armstrong Murray in August 2007. Kate is part of the general practice team and deals with general conveyancing matters, trust administration and commercial matters. Kate is a keen hockey player and has represented her province in the National Hockey League for the past three years. |
Desiree Mason
Desiree originally joined Armstrong Murray in 1979, managing the trust account and mortgages. In 1985 Desiree travelled overseas, spending 2 years working for a legal firm in Sydney, gaining extensive knowledge of the management and running of a legal practice. On Desiree’s return to New Zealand she worked on a part time basis for us becoming our practice manager in 2004. Desiree’s responsibilities include finance, administration, human resources, quality control, marketing and I.T. She works closely with both the partners and staff to ensure that our clients receive the best possible service. |
